Customization?
Hello new to the forums haven't started my BWE experiance yet, but as I'm skimming a lot of the forums and searching for the topic. I can't find detailed info about Character Customization.
My questions are really straight forward: 1. Are there a lot of faces, hair, color and what not so its not often to spot a clone? From all of your BWE experiances?? 2. Even though theres no races, what about nationality? Will I be able to make my character look a certain nationality? Like skin color and facial features? 3. Most of the threads I've read stated that "most" likely there will be more customization implemented upon release. How do you guys know? Was it stated from a dev? and if so wouldn't the people who created a character in the BWE have to start over (although quick) but still start over just to look a certain way? Anyhow sorry if any grammars, spelling, and/or punctuations that anyone will be annoyed, because some of you people really are neurotic about such things... Thank you advance for answering any questions *bow *bow |

There's a pretty basic amount of character customization. Each profession has a bit under a dozen faces and hairstyles to choose from, and maybe half a dozen hair colors. This varies a bit - some professions, like male monks, have very few hairstyles to choose from. The options are limited as the developers want a certain degree of uniformity between characters of the same class, so that each one is distinct and recognizable at a glance.
You'll run into clones frequently enough that it isn't a big deal, but not so frequently that it's no longer a novelty. I noticed a clone every 15-20 hours or so - your milage will vary depending on how much time you spend in towns. There are four skin tones available, and the faces are some mix of caucasian and east asian. You can create a character with black skin, but not black features. As for release, there may or may not be more customization options available then. There have been tweaks to the faces and hairstyles available, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were holding a bit out on us. But at the same time, they could go gold with what they have available right now and not think twice about it. Retail is purely speculation. Peace, -CxE

More options...
I really wish there would be more character options, overall when I view someone in game I notice their armor first as to what profession they are but even if that wasnt the case once you click on them it tells you in their bar what they are.
More options please - Iczer |

I actually was very pleased with the different appearances. Not only are the characters inherently different looking with distinctivly different hair color / styles and facial features, the armor can become VERY different. Lets look at it this way. There are about 4-5 or so different armor sets for each class that all do different things. But besides offering varying benefits, they also look VERY different from each other. Then you can dye them 8 (?) base colors. Each piece. And let's not forget that you can even MIX dyes, resulting in several more colors.
So teh answer to your question is yes. There is a lot of customization. Of course you'll see clones, but the number of times I've seen 2 people in the same place that look very much alike is a small number. |

Customization in most games that involve any sort of "Character Creation" can almost always be improved on.. then again, I am a customization RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO, so maybe I'm biased.
Overall, I am pretty happy with the customization available in Guild Wars. Could there be more? Sure, there always can be. Is it enough? Yes. Hikarate - Yes, body width is something that would be interesting to see... dunno if it would have desirable affects on, say, the Ranger, or any of the Female versions of the Characters.

Although it doesn't ruin the game for me, but if I'm going to have to look at something for awhile last I want is to have someone look exactly like me so thanks for the explanation everyone.
